CLUB FUN DAY: The Under 6, Under 8 & Under 10 Boys and Girls brought their collective seasons to a close on Sunday afternoon. The Day was marked with a hugely successful and enjoyable Club Fun Day in JP O’Sullivan Park. The U10 Parish League is a competition that generations of Laune Rangers have cut their teeth in and the 2019 edition did not disappoint with some excellent football on show. Many thanks to Killorglin & District Pipe Band who supplied pipers to lead out the teams onto the field. The ‘Green & Gold’ team came out on top, defeating the White Team in the A Final, with the Blue Team winning the B Final with victory against the Cúl Team. ‘Green & Gold’ captain Donnacha Prendiville was presented with the Seamus and Noreen Murphy Memorial Cup after the Finals. The Parish League formed part of a fantastic day of activity for the club, with the glorious weather allowing us to make the most of the day. The Club would like to thank the huge number of volunteers who contributed so much on the day led by our hard working committee – photographers, BBQ attendants, facepainters, attendants who gave out all the goodies & sold merchandise in the clubhouse and helped out outside with our fun and games. We thank Bunkers Bar, Cahillane’s Butchers and Value Centre Killarney for their donations of Food and materials. Huge thanks also to all that donated home baking etc – the volume of food that was on offer on the day was testament to the fantastic effort made by all. Of course, all of our footballers could not take the field without certain people – the parents that feed the interest in our game into their children and trust us with them every week, and the coaches who volunteer their time every week. We, as a club, thank you all. Finally, we thank all our future stars for their efforts and look forward to seeing everyone back in 2020.
