Club Notes - 23/04/12

The Seniors played the Senior Club Championship Quarter-Final vs Kilcummin on Saturday last. The team held out to win by a point. Final score: Laune Rangers 1-07 to 0-09 Kilcummin. TEAM: Tony Lyons, Kieran Crowley, Johnny Carey, Chris Riordan, MIchael O'Sullivan, Jeremy O'Callaghan, Aaron Gamble, John Sheehan, Peter Crowley, Tom McGillycuddy, Mike Frank Russell, Geoffrey Mahony, Ryan Lucey, Pa Joy, Shane McSweeney. SUBS: Liam Hassett, Johnny Lynch, Pa Sheehan, Jerry Coffey. The Semi-Final vs Dr. Crokes will take place on Sunday 29th at 2:30pm in Lewis Road.

The B were away to Milltown/Castlemaine last Tuesday night in the second round of the Mid-Kerry Junior League. In terrible conditions the team were defeated by the narrowest of margins. Laune Rangers 1-06 to 0-10. The B's are home to Beaufort tomorrow evening, Tuesday 24th, at 7:30pm in Cloon in round 3 of the Mid-Kerry League.

The Minors were home to Listowel Emmets on Friday evening last in the next round of the Co.League. A nail-biting end saw the boys have to settle for a draw. Final score: 2-06 a piece. TEAM: Gary Naughton, Ciara Twiss, Fergus Oman, John Tyther, Conor Healy, Cian Healy, Aaron Gamble, Jack O'Connor, Cian Foley, Colm O'Mahony, Liam Quirke, Gavin O'Shea, John O'Shea, Dylan Costello, Ethan Diggin. The Minors are away to Beaufort on Friday 27th at 7pm in Beaufort in round 5 of the Minor Co.League.

U-16 BOYS:
The U-16's played Ardfert in a back game on Saturday last. The game finished Laune Rangers 3-07 to 5-05 Ardfert. The Semi-Finals will take place next weekend. More details after tonight's game.

U-14 BOYS:
Laune Rangers were home to Glenflesk last week in the round 4 of the Co.League.The team had to settle for a draw but their unbeaten run in this year's league is still intact going into the final round game. Final score: Laune Rangers 1-13 to 2-10 Glenflesk. The U-14's will play away to Milltown/Castlemaine on Friday evening at 6:15pm in Milltown.

U-12 BOYS:
Phase 1 of the U-12 County League continued on Sunday evening last when the team travelled to Listowel to take on Listowel Emmets. Both teams played brilliantly and tried their best but were unfortunately beaten. This week sees the team host their first home game of the campaign when they play Austin Stacks on Sunday at 7pm.

The Div.1 team were home to Rathmore on Friday evening last and despite trying their hardest were unfortunately beaten. It was good news for the Div.2 team however as they defeated Spa. This week the Div.1 team travels to Caherciveen on Friday evening to play Southern Gaels while the Div.2 team are away to Kenmare, time and date to be confirmed.

U-6/8/10 & 12 GIRLS:
U-6, U-8, U-10 & U-12 girls training is gone back to the usual time of 6pm this Wednesday evening in the J.P. O'Sullivan Park. New players welcome.

U-6/8 & 10 BOYS:
Training for the U-6, U-8 & U-10 boys continues Sunday mornings at 10am in the J.P. O'Sullivan Park. New players welcome.

There will be a Club meeting on Thursday 26th April at 8:30pm in the J.P. O'Sullivan Park Clubrooms. Club meetings are open to all members.

Laune Rangers are launching their new Club fundraiser on Saturday night at 8:30pm in the J.P. O'Sullivan Park Clubrooms. All are welcome to attend. Refreshments will be served in Bunkers Bar after the launch.

There will be a Laune Rangers Golf Outing on Friday 4th May in Killorglin Golf Course from 3:30pm to 5pm. Timesheet on the Club website,, from Sunday 22nd April.

Laune Rangers Ladies are holding an old clothes and textiles collection on Wednesday 25th April from 6pm to 7pm. Items can be dropped to the J.P. O'Sullivan Park during this time. Full details of what is and is not accepted is on the Club website.
