Club Notes - 21/02/12

SENIORS:
The Seniors were away to St.Michaels/Foilmore last weekend in the County League. Rangers registered their first win of this year's league campaign with a well deserved win. Final score: Laune Rangers 2-12 to 0-10 St. Michael's/Foilmore. Goals from Geoffrey Mahony and Mike Frank Russell aided the win. The lads have a break now for a couple of weeks before their first Championship game.


SENIOR B-TEAM:
The B team were home to Cromane last Sunday in the League. Cromane came out on top in this battle, Laune Rangers 2-07 to 0-20 Cromane. There is no County League this weekend.


SENIOR C-TEAM:
The C-team played Cromane in a double up of the Mid-Kerry Junior League and the County Junior League on Wednesday evening last. An exciting game of football saw Laune Rangers emerge victorious on a scoreline of Laune Rangers 1-09 to 0-10 Cromane. The C-team have a bye in the next round of the County Junior League. Fossa have also withdrawn from group 6, leaving ourselves, Cromane, Listry and Scartaglin.


U-12 BOYS:
Phase 2 of the Lee Strand U12 County Football League commenced on Sunday evening last with the boys hosting Legion. More details on this next week. Laune Rangers will remain in Division 1 for the remainder of the League. Along with Austin Stacks, Churchill, Dr. Crokes, Legion and Listowel Emmets.


U-12 GIRLS:
Both U-12 girls teams were in action last week with the Div.1 team at home to Milltown/Listry on Saturday afternoon while the Div.2 team traveled to Dr. Crokes on Friday evening. It was mixed fortunes for the girls as the Div.1 team had a good win over Milltown/Listry but the Div.2 team were narrowly beaten by Dr. Crokes. This week the girls have their final phase 1 game when the Div.1 team travel to Kilcummin on Thursday evening at 7pm while the Div.2 team are home to Glenflesk, date and time to be confirmed.


U-6, U-8 & U-10 BOYS:
Training for the U-6, U-8 & U-10 boys will continue on Sundays at 10am in the J.P. O'Sullivan Park. New players welcome.


U-6, U-8, U-10 & U-12 GIRLS:
Training for the U-6, U-8, U-10 and U-12 girls takes place on Wednesday evenings at 6pm in the J.P. O'Sullivan Park. New players welcome.


GOLF SOCIETY:
The following are the results of the Laune Rangers Golf society which took place in Killorglin Golf Course on Friday 4th May. 1st. Pat Mahoney. 2nd. Peter Fleming. 3rd. Moss Joy. Guest. Ger Joy. 4th. LAST MAN STANDING:
Laune Rangers are setting up a new online fundraising game and are looking for 2 people to assist with running it. This is a good opportunity for candidates to build up their CV as tasks involves using web-based programs to update website and also creating a mobile version of the website. Programming skills are NOT required but a good understanding of IT will be an advantage. It is anticipated that 4 hours a month is required. Volunteers will gain experience in creating websites using “Wordpress” and optimising website for mobile devices. In addition they will get exposure to latest techniques in marketing, both offline and online. If interested email launerangers11@gmail.com
