Club Notes - 10/09/12

The Seniors will play Dr. Crokes in Round 10 of the County League on Sunday 16th September at 2:30pm.

The Senior B-Team are away to Dingle in Round 10 of the County League on Sunday 16th at 2:30pm. In the Round 8 back game vs Renard, Laune Rangers conceded the game.

The Minors played Keel/Listry in the Mid-Kerry Minor League Final on Saturday last in Milltown. Depite leading for major parts of the game, it was to be the combination side who emerged victorious on a score-line of Laune Rangers 0-10 to 0-12 Keel/Listry. Hard luck to all the team. Well done to the Mid-Kerry U-16 Team who defeated Shannon Rangers last weekend to book their place in the Semi-Finals of the U-16 County District Championship. Laune Rangers are represented by Captain, John Tyther, Daniel Macbeth and David Costello. The Semi-Finals have been pushed back a week to Sunday 23rd September. Draw will take place during the week.

The U-14's played Milltown/Castlemaine in the Mid-Kerry U-14 'A' League Final on Sunday evening last in Beaufort. A one point win saw Rangers add the Mid-Kerry League title to the County title they won earlier in the year against the same opponents. Final score in Beaufort: Laune Rangers 1-07 to 1-06 Milltown/Castlemaine.

The U-12A girls played Rathmore in their opening round fixture of the East Kerry League. Rathmore won comfortably in the end. The girls will play Fossa on Sunday 16th at 4:30pm in the Track.

The U-12B girls played Firies in the East Kerry League Final on Sunday afternoon last in Farranfore. The girls trailed by two points at half-time but Firies upped a gear in the second half and ran our winners on a score line of 0-04 to 2-04. Hard luck to the girls but well done on good season of football where learning and improvement is clear to see.

The Kerry Ladies will now play Cork in the All-Ireland Final on Sunday 7th October in Croke Park. Tickets are priced at €25 adults and €5 U-16's. Anyone interested in going to the All Ireland can contact the Ladies Chairperson, Susan Joy, re. tickets and also re. arrangement for bus. Contact 087-9426553 for more information.

Kerry Ladies County Board are running a competition to allow one of over 2000 registered Juvenile players to act as mascot for the Kerry team in Croke Park. To enter, players can draw or paint a picture of their favourite Kerry Ladies player and post it to Melissa O'Callaghan, 2 The Meadows, Castleisland, Co. Kerry. RULES: Must be a registered female player aged 10 or under. The Mascot will receive a complimentary ticket to the game. Parents of the Mascot will not be allowed access to the pitch or pitch side. Parents of the Mascot must remain in the Stand. The winner will be announced at the September County Board meeting on September 20th.

Any Club Member who has not received their membership card can collect same from Eileen Clifford in the CYMS from Monday to Friday; 9am - 5pm.

Well done to Ian Costelloe and his team-mates on their performance at the 2012 Paralympics in London. We hope you enjoyed the experience Ian, looking forward to hearing all about it in the coming weeks.
