The Laune Rangers Senior Ladies side who won on Sunday morning

LOTTO: Lotto Results for Sunday 7th April 2019. There was no winner of the €5,400 jackpot. The numbers drawn were 05 – 12 – 13 – 19. The Consolation Prizes were won by the following: €100 Selina O'Connor - sold online; €50 Eugene Dullaghan - sold by Pat Cahill; €25 Denis Kissane - sold by Colette; €25 Eileen Corkery. Next week’s Lotto Jackpot will be €5,600.

SENIOR: The Intermediate Championship got underway on Saturday evening for Laune Rangers and Glenbeigh/Glencar, and it was the more experienced Glenbeigh side that came out on top in the game played in Beaufort. Glenbeigh/Glencar got the ideal start as Darran O’Sullivan pointed a free shortly after the throw in, before Kieran Courtney struck the net for a goal in the 5th minute. Rangers got into the game and had halved the deficit by the quarter mark – Fiachra Clifford pointing two frees to leave Glenbeigh/Glencar leading by 1-1 to 0-2 with fifteen minutes played. Glenbeigh extended their lead with points from Shane Riordan, Caolim Teahan (2), Pa Kilkenny, & Darran O’Sullivan (free) to go ahead by 1-6 to 0-2, but lost Fergal Griffin to a black card in this period. Laune Rangers came within an inch of scoring a goal to stem the tide, but David Costelloe’s shot from close range rattled the crossbar and rebounded to safety. Tommy Cahill & Jack O’Connor traded points to leave Glenbeigh leading by seven points at the break. Half Time:- Laune Rangers 0-3, Glenbeigh/Glencar 1-7. Laune Rangers were denied from another goal chance in the first play of the second half as Fiachra Clifford forced a save from Rory O’Connor. John Tyther added a point but Rangers were dealt a blow as Glenbeigh scored their second goal with through Colin McGillycuddy. Rangers added points with frees from Dáire Cleary & Jason Browne, while Shane Doona and David Mangan were introduced for their Senior debuts. With fifteen minutes to play, Glenbeigh/Glencar led by 2-7 to 0-6. Laune Rangers were unable to reduce the gap in the final quarter as Glenbeigh matched them score for score – David Costelloe and Dáire Cleary (free) points cancelled out by Darran O’Sullivan (free) and Caolim Teahan. Full Time Score:- Laune Rangers 0-8, Glenbeigh/Glencar 2-9. Glenbeigh/Glencar were unquestionably the better team on the day, as their ability to convert their goal chances made all the difference between the sides on the day – both sides producing two goal attempts with Glenbeigh scoring twice to Rangers none. SENIOR FIXTURE: Laune Rangers will host Templenoe in Round 2 of the Intermediate Championship Group 2. The game takes place on Saturday next, April 13th at 6:30pm in JP O’Sullivan Park, Killorglin.

SENIOR LADIES: Laune Rangers Senior Ladies had a great home win against Currow in the May Jo Curran tournament on Sunday morning. Full Time Score: Laune Rangers 7-5, Currow 2-5. Laune Rangers:- Laura Brennan, Lucy Clifford, Christina O’Brien, Meadhbh O’Sullivan, Claire Fealey, Orla Dunphy, Rachael Evans, Andrea Nolan, Hannah McGeever (1-0), Fodhla Houlihan (2-1), Nicole Moriarty (4-3), Amy Dunphy (0-1); Nessa Healy, Aoife Nash Freeman, Cliodhna McSweeney, Milly Foley, Annemarie Fealey.

UNDER 16 BOYS: Laune Rangers picked up wins in both Divisions 1 & 3 of the Central Region Competition on Monday evening. In JP O’Sullivan Park, the Blue team had a convincing home win against Ballymacelligott in their first game of the season. Laune Rangers ‘Blue’:- Jake Reenstierna, Daniel Evans, Matthew Reenstierna (1-0), Patrick Brennan, Ciarán O’Sullivan, Cathal Crowley, Ryan Diggin, Calum Moriarty (2-2), Darragh Mangan (0-1), James Treacy (0-1), Jack Healy, James Byrne, Eoghan Hassett (1-7, 2f), Marc Clifford (0-2), Jack O’Sullivan (1-1). Subs: Eoin Lynch. The Under 16 White Team also had a great win in Connolly Park against Austin Stacks in Division 9. Full Time Score:- Austin Stacks 1-7, Laune Rangers 4-15.

UNDER 14 BOYS: Laune Rangers Under 14 Blue Team began their season on Wednesday evening, hosting Keel/Listry in Division 1 of the County League. Full Time Score:- Laune Rangers 1-10, Keel/Listry 2-12.

UNDER 14 GIRLS: Laune Rangers Under 14 Girls had a convincing win at home to Na Gaeil on Sunday evening.

UNDER 12 BOYS: Laune Rangers Under 12 Boys began their season on Sunday evening away to Ballymacelligott in County League Divisions 1A & 1B. The Home side came out on top in both games on an evening where the ‘Silent Sidelines’ initiative was introduced. Keep an eye out for the Silent Sidelines in U12 football this season as it tries to eradicate unsportsmanlike commentary from spectators and management.

UNDER 12 GIRLS: Well Done to Laune Rangers Under 12 Girls who had a great win on Saturday in a 175km round trip to Lauragh against Inbhear Scéine Gaels.

KERRY: Commiserations to out Kerry representatives Ciara O’Brien (Senior) & Rachael Evans (Minor) who both started for their County in their respective losses to Tyrone and Cork.

SCÓR: Well Done to our Scór na bPaistí Chiarraí finallists who represented the Club with pride in both the Set Dancing & Quiz categories on Saturday.

NURSERY BOYS: Under 6, Under 8 & Under 10 Boys training has begun! It will run on Sunday mornings from 10am in JP O’Sullivan Park. U6 age grade is for boys born in 2013 & 2014, U8 for those born in 2011 & 2012, & U10 for those born in 2009 & 2010.

NURSERY GIRLS: Under 6, Under 8 & Under 10 Girls training has begun! It will run on Wednesday evenings from 6pm in JP O’Sullivan Park. U6 age grade is for girls born in 2013 & 2014, U8 for those born in 2011 & 2012, & U10 for those born in 2009 & 2010
