Laune Rangers Club Fun Day takes place on Sunday next, October 13th

CLUB FUN DAY: The Under 6, Under 8 and Under 10 Boys and Girls will finish their season on Sunday, October 13th with the playing of the Annual Parish League amongst the U10s. To coincide with this, Laune Rangers are organizing a family fun day with plenty of fun and games for the family, as well as BBQ and music to keep everyone fed and entertained! The Laune Rangers Club Fun Day gets underway at 12pm.

LOTTO: Lotto Results for Sunday October 6th 2019. There was ONE WINNER of the €10,600 jackpot. The numbers drawn were 03 – 09 – 13 – 22. Congratulations to Patrick Grandfield, Knocknaboola who wins our jackpot – his ticket was sold via standing order. Next week’s Lotto Jackpot will be €4,000.

SENIOR: In the first competitive Senior fixture in ten weeks, Laune Rangers made the short trip to Cromane and came home with a comfortable win in the O’Sullivan Cup. Rangers fielded a young team with 7 U20s in their starting lineup. The home side took an early lead with points from midfield pair Niall Dennehy (free) and Donnchadh Walsh, but Rangers soon took the lead with a Fiachra Clifford goal before he added a point to double the lead. A Johnny Carey point was cancelled out by a long range free by Darren Houlihan to leave Laune Rangers leading by 1-2 to 0-3 with fifteen minutes played. Kieran Doona & Fiachra Clifford pointed excellently for Rangers before the hosts scored three in succession – Matt Colbourne, Darren Houlihan (free) and Paul Patrick O’Sullivan all pointing to bring Cromane back to a point behind. Fiachra Clifford (free) & Mark O’Connor pointed for the Laune before Darren Houlihan kicked a great point from long range to leave the home side trailing by two at the break. Half Time Score:- Cromane 0-7, Laune Rangers 1-6. While the first half was a tight contest, the second was one-way traffic from the outset. The Half Time introduction of Roan Moriarty made an immediate impact, as the new full forward turned over possession on Cromane goalkeeper Colm Joy before being pulled down, stopping a tap-in goal. A penalty was awarded, and Rangers captain John Tyther dispatched the spot kick to the net. Dáire Cleary pointed shortly afterwards, before Roan Moriarty was given another chance to ripple the net & the young man made no mistake with a cool finish. A fourth Rangers goal would soon follow, as David Costelloe came up from wing back to get himself on the scoreboard. Dáire Cleary added a brace (1 free) before Seán O’Sullivan scored a point for his side’s first score of the half. With fifteen minutes to play, Laune Rangers now led by 4-9 to 0-8. Rangers rang the changes for the final quarter, but still outscored their hosts during this period. Fiachra Clifford added a point before Cian O’Shea scored a fifth goal for Rangers. Danny O’Shea & Darren Houlihan (free) brought the Cromane score to double figures, Fiachra Clifford scored a final point to bring his own tally to 1-5. UNDER 16 BOYS: Laune Rangers Under 16 Boys continued in the the Mid Kerry Competition early on Sunday afternoon. Laune Rangers Blue entertained Keel/Listry in JP O’Sullivan Park, and the sides couldn’t be separated on the day. Full Time Score:- Laune Rangers Blue 0-13, Keel/Listry. In Glenbeigh, GGC hosted Laune Rangers White, and it was the Laune that came away with the win. Full Time Score:- Glenbeigh/Glencar/Cromane 2-11, Laune Rangers 4-9. UNDER 16 BOYS FIXTURES: Round 3 of the Mid Kerry Under 16 Competition sees Laune Rangers Blue face Laune Rangers White. The game is scheduled for 12pm on Sunday, October 13th in Cloon.

UNDER 16 GIRLS: Commiserations to the Under 16 Girls side who lost in the East Kerry A Final to Dr Crokes on Wednesday evening last.

QUIZ: Laune Rangers host their Annual Table Quiz will be held in Bunkers Bar on Friday evening, November 8th. It always proves to be a fantastic night with plenty of spot prizes to be won!
