LOTTO: Lotto Results for Sunday 31st March 2019. There was no winner of the €5,200 jackpot. The numbers drawn were 02 – 17 – 27 – 31. The Consolation Prizes were won by the following: €100 Bernadette Teahan - sold by Pat Foley; €50 John Sweeney - sold at CYMS; €25 Michael & Breda Teahan; €25 Kathleen Moriarty - sold Online. Next week’s Lotto Jackpot will be €5,400.

SENIOR FIXTURE: Laune Rangers will take on Glenbeigh/Glencar in Round 1 of the Intermediate Championship. The game will take place in Beaufort on Saturday next, 6th April at 6pm.

MINOR: Laune Rangers have secured a home Semi Final in the County Minor League Division 1 following a draw in the fifth and final round against Dr Crokes on Saturday afternoon. Dr. Crokes started the stronger with a pointed free from corner forward Seán McGann in the 4th minute. A long range effort from Michael Lenihan saw the visitors lead 0-02 to no score with 8 minutes of the first half played. On the restart Laune Rangers’ Roan Moriarty joined with Callum Moriarty to send the ball goal bound, the ball was fumbled but Rangers’ Roan Moriarty got a touch on it and sent it to the back of the Dr. Crokes net to swing the lead in the home side’s favour 1-00 to 0-02. Dr. Crokes replied with two further points from McGann in the 9th and 11th minutes as well as another point from Padraic Looney to give the visitors the lead once more, 1-00 to 0-05. Dr. Crokes pounced for their first goal of the afternoon in the 14th minute of the opening half when Gary O’Connor linked well with Lorcan Martin who saw his shot drop short, Dr. Crokes were alert in the inside line and the ball was finished to the back of the Laune Rangers net extending Crokes’ lead, 1-00 to 1-05. Shane Doona got one back for the home side in mid-way through the first half but Dr. Crokes popped up for their second goal in the 16th minute, Seán McGann finding Cian McMahon who made no mistake in firing the ball past Jack Evans in the Laune Rangers goal to let the score 1-01 to 2-05 in Dr. Crokes’ favour. A pointed free from Laune Rangers’ Matthew Leslie was cancelled out by a Harry Potts effort for Dr. Crokes in the 19th minute of the first half. Two final points for Laune Rangers from Calum Russell in the 24th minute and Matthew Leslie in the 28th minute saw the score stand at 1-04 to 2-06 at the short whistle. Laune Rangers hit a purple patch on the restart with a pointed free from Matthew Leslie in the 4th minute as well as an effort from James Hurley in the 6th minute to let a goal between the sides, 1-06 to 2-06. A free for Dr. Crokes converted by Seán McGann saw the visitors extend their lead once more in the 12th minute before a pointed 45’ from Rangers’ David Mangan reduced the deficit in the 14th minute of the second half. The Laune Rangers backline were working well at this stage and a cross field ball fell nicely to Ronan O’Shea who levelled the game at 2-07 a piece mid-way through the second half making for an exciting final quarter. Dr. Crokes Gary O’Connor pushed the visitors ahead once more in the 17th minute with a well taken point. O’Connor saw his shot ricochet off the crossbar soon after – a let off for the home side. Seán McGann added to his tally in the 23rd minute with a pointed free after Jason Kerins was fouled. This was cancelled out by a converted free from Matthew Leslie in the 25th minute to let the minimum between the sides. Laune Rangers’ Shane Doona levelled the game once more in the 29th minute just before Ronan O’Shea pushed the home side ahead with a minute of normal time to play. A point from full forward Gearóid Hassett saw Laune Rangers two points ahead in the 31st minute, 2-11 to 2-09. A stoppage for an injury saw the game continue and the battle continued! A goal for Dr. Crokes’ in the 37th minute gave the visitors a life line as the lead swung once more 3-09 to 2-11. There was still time for one last attack however and when Laune Rangers were awarded a free in the 39th minute, Gearóid Hassett made no mistake. Final score, Laune Rangers 2-12, Dr Crokes 3-09. UNDER 16 BOYS: Laune Rangers will have two Under 16 Teams competing in 2019. Laune Rangers ‘Blue’ get their Division 1 season underway at home to Ballymacelligott on Monday evening, while the ‘White’ team travel to Connolly Park to face Austin Stacks in Division 3. Both games throw in 7pm

UNDER 16 GIRLS: Following a tight first half, Laune Rangers Under 16 Girls were defeated by a strong second half performance by Milltown/Listry on Saturday afternoon.

UNDER 14 BOYS: The County Under 14 Leagues get underway on Wednesday evening, April 3rd at 7pm. The Blue Side will host Keel/Listry in Division 1, while the White side travel to Ballymacelligott in Division 9.

UNDER 12 BOYS: the County Under 12 Leagues get underway on Sunday next, April 7th. Laune Rangers ‘Blue’ & ‘White’ team will both begin on the road to Ballymacelligott. Throw in 6pm.

KERRY: Commiserations to Peter Crowley & the Kerry team who were defeated by Mayo in the National League Final on Sunday. Well Done to Ciara O’Brien who came on for the Kerry Senior Ladies in their win over Wexford in the National League. Well done also to the Kerry Under 14 Ladies who qualified for the Munster A Final with a successful second phase of the competition on Saturday, especially squad members Sara Leslie and Sophia Doherty.

NURSERY BOYS: Under 6, Under 8 & Under 10 Boys training has begun! It will run on Sunday mornings from 10am in JP O’Sullivan Park. U6 age grade is for boys born in 2013 & 2014, U8 for those born in 2011 & 2012, & U10 for those born in 2009 & 2010.

NURSERY GIRLS: Under 6, Under 8 & Under 10 Girls training has begun! It will run on Wednesday evenings from 6pm in JP O’Sullivan Park. U6 age grade is for girls born in 2013 & 2014, U8 for those born in 2011 & 2012, & U10 for those born in 2009 & 2010.
