SENIOR MEN: Laune Rangers travel to Finuge next weekend in the County Senior Football League. The game will take place on Saturday, June 4th at 7pm. This will be the first of three consecutive weekends with County League games, and all support – both at home and away games – will be hugely appreciated at this crucial time of the year.

JUNIOR MEN: Laune Rangers Junior Team played Spa in the County Junior League in JP O’Sullivan Park on Friday evening. The game was played at 13 a side, as Spa had the minimum to compete in the game, but that didn’t deter them from getting into an early lead, and after quarter of an hour the visitors led by 1-5 to 0-2 with Kieran Doona kicking both Rangers’ points (1 free). Laune Rangers found their game in the second quarter, but Spa were unerring in accuracy. By half time, there was 8 points between the sides. Points from Daniel Whittleton, Pa Sheehan, Paul Larkin & Eric Dunlea were nullified as Spa notched six of their own. The Half Time Score:- Laune Rangers 0-6, Spa Killarney 1-11. Laune Rangers were much better in the second half. The hosts outscored Spa by six points to two in the third quarter to reduce the gap to four points, as Jack Smith (2 frees), Shane O’Connor (3) and Gavin O’Shea all pointed excellently for Rangers. A Kieran Doona pointed free was met by three Spa points to put six between the sides again, before Pa Sheehan finished a fine team move for a Laune Rangers goal. With three minutes to play, there was a just three points between the sides. Points were traded between Spa and Laune Rangers’ Pa Sheehan but the visitors held on in spite of a late goal chance that required a double save from the Spa goalkeeper. Final Score:- Laune Rangers 1-14, Spa Killarney 1-17. A slow start was costly to Rangers as the deficit was too great to reel in. However, it proved to be a valuable exercise as it gave much needed game time to players that haven’t had much time on the field this year. Laune Rangers Panel: Eamon Carey, Paul Larkin (0-1), Tadhg Curran, Daniel Whittleton (0-1), Mark Healy, Gavin O’Shea (0-1), Aidan Cox, Cian Foley, Luke O’Shea, Pa Sheehan (1-2), Eric Dunlea (0-1), Jack Smith (0-2f), Kieran Doona (0-3, 1f), George Evans, Shane O’Connor (0-3), Paudie O’Shea, Eoin O’Sullivan, David Coffey, Garry Flynn, Manus Gallagher, Francis Russell, Dáire Clifford, Darragh Burns.
