LOTTO: Lotto Results for Sunday 2nd September 2018. There was no winner of the €9,800 jackpot. The numbers drawn were 04 – 10 – 17 – 23. The Consolation Prizes were won by the following: €100 Leslie West - sold by Pat Pigott; €50 Mike Breen - sold by Pat Cahill; €25 Karyna Corkery - sold by Pat Pigott; €25 Eugene Cotter - standing order. Next week’s Lotto Jackpot will be €10,000.

SENIOR FIXTURE: The Draw for the Mid Kerry Senior Football Championship 2018 took place last week. Laune Rangers will face Keel in the Quarter Final, with the winner to take on Beaufort in a Semi Final. The venues, dates and times for these games yet to be confirmed.

SENIOR LADIES: Laune Rangers will host Milltown/Listry in the County Junior A Championship on Monday, 3rd September. Throw in 6:45pm in JP O’Sullivan Park.

MINOR FIXTURE: The Draw for the Mid Kerry Minor Football Championship 2018 also took place last week. Laune Rangers will host Beaufort in the Quarter Final, with the winner to travel to Keel/Listry in a Semi Final. The dates and times for these games yet to be confirmed.

JUNIOR: Laune Rangers are in the Quarter Finals of the Barrett Cup after a strong second half performance saw off the challenge of Cromane on Friday evening. Rangers led by 0-10 to 1-5 at the break, but second half goals from Mark O’Connor (2), Cian O’Shea and Eamonn Carey made sure of a 13 point win in the end. Final Score:- Cromane 1-10, Laune Rangers 4-14. Laune Rangers Team:- Vincent Costello, Darragh O’Shea, Darren O’Riordan, Oisín Daly, Colm O’Mahony, John Sheehan, Seán Arthurs, Mark Healy (capt), Maurice Foley, Shane Crowley, Kieran Doona (0-4), James Lynch (0-1), Cian O’Shea (1-1), Eamonn Carey (0-3), Gavin O’Shea (0-2). Subs: Mark O’Connor, Paudie O’Shea, Dáire Clifford, Jerome Houlihan.

UNDER 16 GIRLS: Laune Rangers Under 16 Girls will host Killarney Legion in the East Kerry Competition on Tuesday, September 4th. Throw in 7pm in Cloon.

UNDER 14 BOYS: Laune Rangers Under 14s have two teams in the Mid Kerry Under 14 Competition this year, alongside teams from Milltown/Castlemaine, Beaufort, Keel/Listry, & Cromane/Glenbeigh/Glencar. Having both won their opening round games against Milltown/Castlemaine & Beaufort respectively, both the ‘Blue’ & ‘White’ teams were in action again this week. On Tuesday evening, Rangers ‘Blue’ took on Keel/Listry in Keel. Following a tight first half in dreadful conditions, Laune Rangers scored late in the opening period to open up a 10 point lead at the break before going on to win well in the second half. Final Score:- Keel/Listry 1-5, Laune Rangers 3-12. Best for Rangers: Darragh O’Grady, Jamie Healy, Ciarán O’Sullivan. Laune Rangers ‘Blue’:- Adam Carey, Aona O’Shea, Eoin Lynch, Cathal O’Callaghan, Killian Spillane, Ciarán O’Sullivan, Devon Hogan, Ryan Diggin, Cillian Foley, Darragh O’Grady (1-7), Adam Owens (0-2), Jamie Healy (0-1), Joseph O’Neill, Jack O’Sullivan (2-2), Shane Kelliher. Sub: David Crowley. On Friday evening, it was the turn of the ‘White’ Team to take on Milltown/Castlemaine in Milltown. Rangers were defeated on this occasion, having battled back from and 11 point deficit to dominate the second half only to run out of time. Final Score:- Milltown/Castlemaine 3-7, Laune Rangers 2-5. Best for Rangers: Oisín Birmingham, John Burke, Tom Garry. UNDER 12: Laune Rangers ‘Blue’ host Na Gaeil on Monday evening in the final Under 12 game of the season, where a win for Rangers would see them secure the Central Region Under 12 Division 1 A title. Laune Rangers ‘White’ finished their season last week with a win over An Ghaeltacht to claim the Division 1 B title.

KERRY: Kerry are All Ireland Minor Football Champions for the 5th year in a row! Well done to Peter Keane and his management team, which included our own Podge Murphy as well as Killorglin native James Foley. Congratulations to a great group of players, including our own David Mangan who put in a huge shift, as well as extended panellist Roan Moriarty.
