ALL STAR: Congratulations to Peter Crowley on being named All Star centre back for 2014. It caps off a remarkable year in the green and gold for him, and he becomes the 3rd Laune Rangers man to become an All Star – 14 years after both Liam Hassett and Mike Frank Russell collected theirs. Congratulations to Paul Murphy, David Moran, Kieran Donaghy, & James O’Donoghue on their All Stars & also to James O’Donoghue on being named 2014 Footballer of the Year. Congrats also to the other Kerry nominees who were all deserving of an award.
SAM MAGUIRE: Thanks to everyone that came out on Saturday evening to welcome the Sam Maguire trophy into the square in Killorglin. It was accompanied by Aidan O’Mahony, Brian Kelly, Brendan Kealy, Shane Enright, Johnny Buckley, Stephen O’Brien, Pa Kilkenny, Marcus Mangan & Minor winner Liam Carey. We thank them all for joining us for our celebrations, but special welcome was reserved for our own All Star Peter Crowley. All players stayed on for a long time after the official proceedings to sign autographs and pose for photos and we thank them for that.
WALK WITH JOE: Congratulations to Joe Crowley on the completion of his 32nd marathon in as many weeks. This remarkable achievement raised vital money for St Vincent De Paul in all 32 counties. Congratulations also go to all that took part in the walk with Joe on Saturday. Joe also hosted a charity auction on Saturday night that was very well supported and most of the Kerry players listed above also joined him for the event. It was a huge success and we thank all members that helped out on the day & evening.
BOYS OF ’89: As it has been 25 years since that great County title win of 1989, our victorious team was introduced to the spectators at half time of the County Final on Sunday last. They were also introduced to the crowd in the square on Saturday night and were given a great reception. SENIORS: Our Senior teams had a free weekend, and look forward to the final round of the County League, which takes place on the weekend of November 8th & 9th, as well the upcoming Mid Kerry Championship.
STRICTLY COME DANCING: Laune Rangers Strictly Come Dancing takes place on Friday November 28th and Saturday November 29th. Our Dancers have been practicing hard and they are looking for your votes!!
