UNDER 16 BOYS FIXTURES: The Mid Kerry Under 16 Competition gets underway on Sunday next, September 29th. Laune Rangers Blue travel to Beaufort while Laune Rangers White host Milltown/Castlemaine. Both games throw in at 12pm.

UNDER 14 BOYS: Laune Rangers grip on the Mid Kerry Under 14 A Championship was copper-fastened for another 12 months with a fantastic win against a fancied Keel/Listry team in Killorglin on Sunday. JP O’Sullivan Park played host to all three Mid Kerry U14 Finals on Sunday, and the pitch was in great condition in the glorious autumnal sunshine. It took five minutes of the game for the deadlock to be broken and it was Darragh Clifford of Laune Rangers who pointed excellently to give his side the lead, but the visitors were level within a minute with a point of their own. A pointed free for Keel/Listry gave them their only lead of the game, and it was a lead that lasted two minutes until Rian O’Sullivan pointed for Rangers to level matters at 0-2 a piece after ten minutes. Rangers dominated the middle portion of the first half, and scored a further five points without reply through John Burke (2, 1f), Jack Lynch (free), Niall O’Brien & Rian O’Sullivan to give the hosts a strong lead. Keel/Listry battled back though, and scored the last three points of the half to reduce the gap to two at the break. Half Time Score:- Laune Rangers 0-7, Keel/Listry 0-5. Keel/Listry halved the deficit with a point early in the second half, but it was soon cancelled out by a super score by Niall O’Brien for Rangers. Keel/Listry pointed a free to leave the minimum between the sides at 0-8 to 0-7 with a quarter to play. The highlight moment of the game for many was the Darragh Clifford point in the 50th minute – the full forward showing great skill to win the ball and turn towards goal, and he shrugged off two defenders with ease before kicking over the bar from an acute angle. Keel/Listry responded with a point soon after but it would be their last of the game. Rangers defence were simply outstanding for the final ten minutes to cut out the attack time and again. A foul on Darragh Clifford gave captain Jack Lynch a free to put two between the sides, and Rangers held on to take a great win. Full Time Score:- Laune Rangers 0-10, Keel/Listry 0-8. Laune Rangers Blue:- Patryk Radny, David O’Brien, Oisín Birmingham, Devon Hogan, Shane Clifford, Tim Mangan, Eoin O’Connell, John Burke (0-2, 1f), Niall Tadgh O’Brien (0-2), Rian O’Sullivan (0-2), Stephen Gannon, Colin Griffin, Andrew Owens, Darragh Clifford (0-2), Jack Lynch (0-2f). Subs: Seanie Diggin, Conor Buckley, Matthew Spillane, John Tuohy, Aaron Doyle, Tom Garry, Joseph O’Neill, Micheál O’Shea, Logan Foley, Seán O’Donnell, Gavin Mangan, Adam O’Neill, Charlie O’Sullivan. It was a great win on the day with a team that contained eight U13 players. A young Laune Rangers White Team (wearing blue - pictured) took on Glenbeigh/Glencar/Cromane (GGC) early on Sunday afternoon in the C Final. It was the GGC team that used their advantage in age & physical strength to take the win. GGC led by 2-5 to 0-3 at the break – Conor Buckley (2, 1f) and Adam O’Neill taking Rangers scores. However, the visitors had too much for the U13s of Laune Rangers in the second half. A great goal by Mattie Spillane and pointed frees by Adam O’Neill and Conor Buckey (2) was not enough to claw back anything out of the game as GGC added 3-7 to take a comfortable win. The score line did not reflect the Rangers efforts on the day. All bar one of the starting XV are either U13 or U12, and it serves as great experience for 2020 competition. Full Time Score:- Laune Rangers White 1-6, Glenbeigh/Glencar/Cromane 5-12. Laune Rangers White:- Darragh Lynch, Callum O’Sullivan, Charlie O’Sullivan, Denis McGeever, Evan Moriarty, Gavin Mangan, Seán O’Donnell, Matthew Spillane, Conor Buckley, Logan Foley, Seanie Diggin, Aaron Doyle, Ryan Carey (capt), Adam O’Neill, Cathal Moroney. Subs: Luke Moriarty, Rian Hogan, Alex Garry, Colm O’Shea, Callum Russell, Maio Harmon, Cathal Daly. It brings to a close the competitive season for our Under 14s. Well Done to all the players who took the field for the club this year. Well Done and thanks to our U14 mentors who volunteered their time so willingly – John O’Donnell, William Byrne, Colin O’Connor, Aidan Spillane, John Clifford with help from Tony Lyons, Mike Frank Russell and Peter Crowley We look forward to seeing all back again in 2020.

UNDER 14 GIRLS: The Laune Rangers Under 14 Girls hosted Killarney Legion on Monday evening in the East Kerry Competition, and the sides couldn't be separated with scores level at the final whistle. Points by Sophia Doherty and Sara Leslie book-ended scores at the other end for Legion to see the visitors ahead by 0-3 to 0-2 with a quarter played. Legion added two more points before Rangers levelled matters as Sara Leslie struck the net with a super finish after excellent team play. Further points were traded between the sides - Amy Kelly with Rangers score - but Legion scored two goals in as many minutes to take a six point lead. Laune Rangers held their composure and were back to within a point, as Grainne Jones was most alert to react to a dropping ball to knock it into the net before adding another point, and a pointed free by Aoife Cleary left the minimum between the sides at the break. Half Time:- Laune Rangers 2-5, Killarney Legion 2-6. Aoife Cleary (free) and Sara Leslie pointed to nullify points by Legion - Olivia Moriarty driving out from defence before giving a super pass for Sara's score - before Legion scored their third goal to go ahead by four. However, Rangers rallied again and two Sophia Doherty points halved the deficit. Legion pointed a free to take a 3-9 to 2-9 lead into the final quarter. However, outstanding Rangers defence stopped Legion from scoring in the remainder of the game. Laune Rangers dominated the final quarter and engineered plenty in attack, with three frees being scored by Aoife Cleary to level the game. Full Time Score:- Laune Rangers 2-12, Killarney Legion 3-9.
