UNDER 14: Laune Rangers Under 14s welcomed Fossa to a windy Cloon on Sunday morning for a challenge game, and a worthwhile exercise it proved for both squads. Fossa - playing with a strong wind - started the stronger as it took Rangers some time to settle into the match. Due to recent bad weather Rangers had only one field session completed before the game, and this undoubtedly contributed to the slow start. However , Rangers found their feet in the last two thirds of the match and helped by some good finishing by Matthew Leslie and Callum Russell in particular gradually got them back into the match. A feature of the match was the performance by some of the first year under 14 players and this augurs well for the forthcoming season. However a physically strong Fossa team did provide some areas for the Rangers to develop as the season progresses. All in all a good competitive outing for all players in their first match of the season, with plenty to work to do for both panels before the start of the Co League at the beginning of April. Training continues in Cloon during the week and all players need to attend – notification will be sent for day and time. Squad used on the day where most players played two thirds of the match: Jack Foley, Patrick Brennan, Stephen Sullivan, James Byrnes, Niall Fenton Toms, Cian Naylor, Barry Moriarty, Callum Russell, Rory O Connor, Cathal Crowley, Mark Clifford, Darragh Mangan, Sean Twiss, Martin Fay, James Treacy, Tiarnach O Shea, Sean Cleary, Matthew Leslie, Stephen Cronin, Daniel Evans, Oisin Flynn, Jack Healy, Gavin Joy, Callum Moriarty, Mikey O Donnell, Matt Reinstierna.
