UNDER 14s: Féile Peile na nÓg 2016 is less than two weeks away. The festival of Under 14 football runs on the weekend of June 24th to 26th and promises to be a fantastic competition. Laune Rangers U14 Boys play two games at home on the first evening (at 5pm & 7:15pm) while the U14 Girls play at the same time in Glenbeigh. Both sides play their respective final group games at home on the Saturday morning – the Girls at 10:15am and the Boys at 11am. Volunteers to help us run the event would be hugely appreciated. UNDER 14 GIRLS: Congratulations to the Kerry Under 14 Girls who defeated Galway in the All Ireland Semi Final on Sunday, especially the panelists from Laune Rangers – Rachael Evans, Fodhla Houlihan & Andrea Nolan.

UNDER 12 BOYS: All three Under 12 teams played in the past week, with two of the teams playing twice. The ‘Green’ Team defeated both Ardfert (away on Thursday) and Ballymacelligott (home on Saturday), while the ‘White’ Team won away at Rathmore on Sunday. Mean while the ‘Gold’ Team played well but lost to Ardfert (away on Thursday) and Ballymacelligott (home on Saturday). That marks the end of the County League, with two separate League phases played. The ‘Green’ Team won Division 1A in both Phase 1 and Phase 2 – the 2nd consecutive year that Laune Rangers have achieved that. The ‘White’ Team played in Div 8 in Phase 1 and were moved to Division 5 in Phase two, and finished 3rd in the league – a great achievement for a team of U11s playing against U12 ‘A’ Teams. The ‘Gold’ Team were also in essence an U11 team and competed very well against older teams in Div 1B. In all, 40 Under 12 players spread across three teams competed for Laune Rangers in the County League and gave all to their coaches in games and commitment to training.

UNDER 12 GIRLS: Laune Rangers U12 Girls play Na Gaeil on Tuesday next, June 13th in JP O’Sullivan Park at 7pm. They had a great win last Tuesday against Rathmore, and a win next Tuesday may secure a place in the County League Semi Final.
