A CELEBRATION OF KERRY: As part of our former Club Chairman Joseph Crowley’s ‘Walk with Joe’ efforts – where Joe has been walking in 32 Marathons in 32 counties in 32 weeks – ‘A Celebration of Kerry’ takes place in the INEC Killarney on Sunday next 19th October. It will showcase the best of Kerry Talent in a night of Music, Song & Dance, featuring Killorglin Pantomime Group, Siamsa Tíre, Kerry School of Music, Celtic Steps, Killarney & Tralee Musical Societies, Oracle, Kerry Choral Union & many more. It begins on Sunday at 8pm and Tickets €20 can be got from Joe’s own Mulvihill’s Pharmacy as well as the INEC booking office. The final leg of the marathon of marathons will take place in Kerry, finishing in the square in Killorglin on Saturday October 25th. This will be Joe’s 32nd Marathon and he is encouraging as many as people as possible to join him on some part of the walk. The route has been broken into a number of legs so you can choose to do 5kM, 10KM, 20KM, 30KM or 42KM. There will be 3 Registration Points along the Route so we encourage you, your families and friends to join in. As well as getting some great exercise and meeting some very interesting people you will be raising money for a very worthy cause. For more information, visit Proceeds go to St Vincent De Paul.

JUBILEE: To coincide with Joe’s final marathon, we will also be welcoming a special guest in the SAM MAGUIRE to town on October 25th. The cup will of course be accompanied by Laune Rangers’ own Peter Crowley – son of Joe. That night is also the eve of the County Senior Final and, seeing as it’s 25 years since the historic 1989 Laune Rangers win, we will be honouring the jubilee team.

NOMINEES: Congratulations to Peter Crowley on a well deserved All Star nomination. The awards ceremony takes place on Friday, October 24th & we wish him the very best for the night. Congratulations also to Donnchadh Walsh & the 9 other Kerry players on their nominations. There was more positive Allstar related news, as Laune Ranger players Bernie Breen & Sarah Houlihan were the sole Kerry nominees in the Ladies AllStars. Congratulations to both ladies.

SENIORS: Our Senior teams had a free weekend, and look forward to the final round of the County League & the upcoming Mid Kerry Championship.

U14 GIRLS: Congratulations to the U14 Girls B team who defeated Spa in the final of the East Kerry league on a scoreline 3-12 to 2-07. Well done to all involved.
