Laune Rangers Ladies Only night takes place on Friday, November 20th. SENIOR: Laune Rangers are one of the eight clubs involved in the possibly historic County Senior Football Relegation Playoff, which begin next Saturday, November 7th. Three out of the eight will be relegated to Intermediate level for 2016. The eight clubs – Ardfert, Austin Stacks, Kerins O’Rahillys, Kilcummin, Laune Rangers, Milltown/Castlemaine, Rathmore and St Michaels/Foilmore – enter into a knockout format open draw at the County Board meeting this Monday night. The format is as follows:- The 4 winning teams from Round 1 will be safe from relegation. The 4 losing teams will enter into hat for Round 2. The two losing teams from Round 2 will be deemed relegated to intermediate level, while the two winning sides will then play each other with the loser of those becoming the 3rd team to fall to Intermediate level. Needless to say, next Saturday’s game is an enormous fixture for Laune Rangers future. Mid Kerry got off to a bright start, and were 1-2 to 0-1 ahead after 10 minutes - a Jamie Clifford penalty adding to two Patrick Daly frees. However Dingle grew into the game, and by half time had reduced the deficit to the minimum - Tomas Sheehy (2), Liam Brosnan & Conor Geaney with Dingle's scores. HT score: Mid Kerry 1-2, Dingle 0-4. Offensive production dried up in the second half, and a Mike Breen point (Mid Kerry's only score from play) was followed by a Patrick Daly free, but Dingle's star man Conor Geaney found his range and kicked four points in the second half. Liam Brosnan and Tomas Sheehy both added to their respective tallies to take the County Minor title back to Dingle for the second consecutive year. Commiserations to Mid Kerry, especially the Laune Rangers contingent of Neil O'Brien, Patrick Daly, Jamie Clifford, Fiachra Clifford, Daniel Whittleton, as well as their fellow panellists George Evans, Pierce Tyther, & John Francis O'Grady who represented their club and division with honour in the Championship 2015. CLUB MEETING: Laune Rangers Club Meeting takes place on Tuesday evening at 8pm in our clubrooms at JP O’Sullivan Park. This meeting is open for all Club Members to attend. |
