Played in Kenmare on Sunday afternoon last Inbhear Scéine Gaels built on their Round 2 and 3 victories with a further win over rivals Laune Rangers.
Both sides were without their Kerry players who were away to Mayo the same day. This meant Inbhear Scéine Gaels played without their Kerry star Gina Crowley while Laune Rangers were without 5 of their starting 13 with Edel Murphy, Bernie Breen, Sarah Houlihan, Patrice Dennehy and Emma Sherwood all on Kerry duty. Inbhear Scéine Gaels played an impressive game of football right from the off. They got a dream start with a goal from Michelle O'Sullivan inside the opening minute. Caroline McCarthy added their first point soon after to let the score 1-01 to 0-00 in the second minute. Anna Maria O'Donoghue replied for the Launesiders with their opening score of the game in the 3rd minute to let the goal between the sides; 1-01 to 0-01. Inbhear Scéine Gaels seemed to find another gear at this early stage and points from Clair O'Sullivan, Denise Burns, Caroline McCarthy(2) ad a second Inbhear Scéine goal from Clair O'Sullivan saw the home side hold a 2-05 to 0-01 advantage with 12 minutes played.
Amy Foley got Laune Rangers second point of the afternoon in the 13th minute followed by a well taken effort from Mary Ann Doherty. Two further Inbhear Scéine Gaels points saw them extend their lead once more and it was 2-07 to 0-03 in the home side's favour with 10 minutes of the first half remaining. Amy Foley and Anna Maria O'Donoghue worked hard for the visitors throughout and added to their tally in the 21st and 25th minutes of the opening half. It was Inbhear Scéine Gaels who closed the half just as they started with a final minute goal from Clair O'Sullivan. Score at the short whistle: 3-09 to 0-05.
Inbhear Scéine Gaels continued to build on their opening half lead in the second half. With some impressive long range kicking along with the aid of a strong breeze they continued to add to the scoreboard until the final whistle. A goal from Denise Burns in the 2nd minute of the half, followed by two more - the the pick being a Clair O'Sullivan effort in the 7th minute as well as points from Caroline McCarthy, Jane O'Sullivan and Michelle O'Sullivan saw the score stand at 5-12 to 0-05 in the 8th minute of the second half. Amy Foley pointed a free for the Launesiders but it was one way traffic at this stage. Inbhear Scéine Gaels went on to score 6 points without reply, the pick of these points from Laura O'Sullivan and Clair O'Sullivan before Laune Rangers' Fiona Brennan got her name on the score sheet in the 20th minute of the half; 6-18 to 0-07 with 10 minutes remaining.
Inbhear Scéine closed out the game to let the score at the final whistle; 6-22 to 0-07 in the home side's favour.
