Spa introduced two substitutes at the break, and one of them – Mike Foley – found himself on the scoresheet inside the first minute. Mike McCarthy pointed shortly afterwards for Spa to tie the game up, but Colm O’Shea pointed twice in as many minutes for Rangers (the first a free), to restore Rangers’ lead. Spa’s other half time substitute Evan Cronin showed some phenomenal fielding ability to win the ball for Spa, and kicked the best point of the game to reduce the gap to the minimum on the 40th minute. However, Rangers again responded & when Peter Crowley was fouled on the right flank, John O’Shea was introduced from the bench & pointed the resulting free to put the home side 0-9 to 0-7 ahead with a quarter remaining. Shane Daly added another for Rangers but this was quickly cancelled out by the on form Mike McCarthy. Pa Joy pointed for Rangers on the 55th minute putting three points between the sides again, but a Liam Kearney free followed by two points by Mike McCarthy tied the game up before the final whistle. Full Time score: Laune Rangers 0-11, Spa 0-11.
