Rangers U 14’s on the march as they beat Na Gaeil in Tralee

Our U14’s are improving from game to game as could be witnessed in a thrilling win over na Gaeil in Tralee last Thursday evening the 18th of April. This win followed a very controversial draw away to Legion in the previous round where everyone watching the game, including Legion mentors, had Rangers leading  by 2 points when Legion were awarded a free on the 13 metre line in the dying moments of the game.  They were encouraged to go for goal from the side line until the referee was asked the score & he said that there was only a single point in it. Legion duly pointed the free, the final whistle sounded & the game was deemed a draw.

Onwards to Tralee & Na Gaeil, this time there was no such controversy as Rangers put in  their best performance of the year so far to beat the home side 7-09 to 4-13. Their were excellent performances all over from Rangers with Keelin Houlihan scoring 3 goals & Patrick Carey, Daire Cleary,  Fiachra Clifford & Liam Croke all adding goals.  The stand out performance of the evening was Padraig Ahern in goals, he pulled off four fantastic saves & kept a very dangerous Na Gaeil attack at bay.

Next up is our final league fixture, at home to Churchill on this Wednesday at 7.30pm in the Track. A win in this game should ensure a home semi- final.
