Dr. Crokes came out in the second half with all guns blazing and tagged on some good scores. However dogged defending and hard work by our mid field stemmed the flow. This set a platform for our forwards to take some great scores as the half went on taking a 7 point lead they would never relinquish. Laune Rangers White 5-08

Dr. Crokes 2-06

The Laune Rangers White Team made the trip to Killarney on Sunday evening to face Dr. Crokes. The evening was dry but a pretty strong wind blew down field.

The lads did not train this week because of the extremely bad weather on Wednesday, but this didn’t stop the team from going out and given a whole hearted and courageous performance against a very good Dr. Crokes team.

Team Captain on the night was Sean Cleary. Sean decided to play against the wind in the first half. The game began at a frantic pace with Crokes attacking at every opportunity. The rock solid defence of Jack Carey, Stephen Sullivan in the full back line and Rory O’Connor and Cian Naylor in the half back were excellent, midfielders Barry O’Connor and Gabriel Griffin helped the defence throughout the half as well as getting the ball up to our forwards. Sean Cleary and Martin Fay came to help the defence on many occasions and collected breaking ball and worked tirelessly to gain possession and get the ball up the field to the full forward line of Stephen Sealey and Jamie Sullivan who worked extremely hard to get possession and scores. Dean Cahill in goals pulled off some fantastic & brave goalkeeping to keep the Crokes at Bay. Rangers playing against the wind led at half time by a point. Half Time score, Laune Rangers 2-03, Dr. Crokes 2-02

The second half began with Rangers stepping up another gear, with defence again dominating most of all the exchanges midfielders and forwards working well to pick off some great scores. Tiarnách O`Shea was introduced in the second half and was unlucky not to have scored a goal but worked extremely hard to set up scores. Darragh Foyle, Gavin Joy and Natahan Houlihan came on and made an impact on the game as the Rangers players were beginning to get tired and fresh legs were needed. The Crokes players were getting physical in the last seven or eight minutes of the second half, but Darragh, Gavin, Nathan and Tiarnách showed great courage throughout. Dean Cahill pulled off some great saves as Crokes threw everything to pull the game back, but Rangers held firm. This panel displayed courage, spirit, skill and above all unity, the supporters watching the game saw these characteristics in abundance. Well done to all lads. Final score, Laune Rangers 5-08, Dr. Crokes 2-06
