The Laune Rangers White Team faced the Austin Stacks in windy Connolly Park on Sunday evening. The Rangers settled into the game very quickly with some great football. From the throw in the Rangers took control of the game, the goal keeping and defence were very solid and played some great ball out to our half forward line and midfield. The score line suggests that it was very one sided, but in the first half, the Stacks club were guilty of some wayward kicking. The midfield linked very well with the forwards who put great moves together culminating in two great goals early on and some fine point kicking from distance and close range. Half time score line Laune Rangers 4-08 Austin Stacks 0-01
In the second half Rangers had the tricky cross wind to their advantage and took control of second half early on, again some great point taking and three more goals meant that the lads were well in control by the final whistle. Great credit to must be given to Austin Stacks team who never gave up right to the end, the Stacks coaches came in and congratulated the lads for their performance; the lads gave an appreciative applause in return.
