County Under 14 League Semi Finals:- Div 1 vs Moyvane 16/5/18 & Div 9 vs Ballymac 18/5/18

Laune Rangers will contest the Finals of the County Under 14 League Divisions 1 & 9 as both the ‘Blue’ and ‘White’ teams won their respective Semi Finals this week.

Division One:- Laune Rangers 5-23, Moyvane 0-11

There was little between the sides at the break as Moyvane were more clinical with their scoring chances than home side. Rangers led by 0-4 to 0-3 with 12 minutes played, but two goals midway through the half through John Burke and Jack Lynch gave them a solid lead. However, Moyvane kept chipping away with three pointed frees in succession. Points were traded twice more late on to leave Rangers leading at the break. Half Time:- Laune Rangers 2-6, Moyvane 0-8.

Laune Rangers were a different side in the second half, with goals from Jack O’Sullivan (2) and Eoghan Hassett hit the net with excellent goals give the hosts control of the game, and led by 5-14 to 0-10 with 15 minutes to play. Further gloss was added to the scoreboard in the final quarter with some great point scoring by Rangers. Full Time Score:- Laune Rangers 5-23, Moyvane 0-11.

Laune Rangers ‘Blue’:- Adam Carey, Tim Mangan, Aona O’Shea, Cathal O’Callaghan, Killian Spillane, Tom Whittleton, Ciarán O’Sullivan, Ryan Diggin, Adam Owens (0-6), John Burke (1-3), Eoghan Hassett (1-3), Jack Lynch (1-0), Darragh O’Grady (0-4), Cillian Foley, Jack O’Sullivan (2-6, 5f). Subs: Eoin Lynch, John Tuohy, Darragh Evans (0-1).

Division Nine:- Laune Rangers 5-11, Ballymacelligott 2-9

First Half goals from Cian Fogarty & Oisin Lynch put Laune Rangers in the driving seat in the Division Nine Semi Final, as they took a 2-6 to 0-3 lead into the break. 

Eoin Joy added a third goal for Rangers in the first play of the second half but Ballymac came back into it and scored 2-2 unanswered to reduced the deficit to just four points with 15 minutes to play. However, Laune Rangers responded well and four points in a row were followed by another Oisin Lynch goal to give the hosts a commanding lead for the final stages of the game. Ballymac scored five points of their own during the final stages of the game, but a hat-trick goal and point by Oisin Lynch increased the Rangers lead and secured the win.
