Mark O’Connor pointed a free from an acute angle to give Rangers the lead once again, before Cordal/Scartaglin put over three unanswered points to go ahead by two – their first lead of the game. A fantastic pass from Daragh O’Connor put Shane Doona through and he made no mistake in finding the net to recapture the lead for Rangers. Points from Mark O’Connor (free) and Shane Doona put their side ahead by three again before Cordal/Scart swept up field following an interception and struck for a well worked goal to tie the scores late in the half. Daragh O’Connor pointed late in the half to give Rangers the slenderest of leads before the break. The Half Time score:- Laune Rangers 1-9, Cordal/Scartaglin 1-8.

The final quarter was an end to end battle, as the Cordal/Scart went three points ahead in a flurry that included a super 45m kick. Laune Rangers had a penalty claim in the 55th minute, when Dáire Cleary was fouled en route to goal, but the foul was adjudged to be outside the square. He tapped over the resulting free but the visitors pointed again to restore the three point difference. Another close-in free was taken quickly by Dáire Cleary in the 57th minute, and the shot by Roan Moriarty was leg-blocked by a defender. The referee awarded a penalty to the home side, which was dispatched successfully by Moriarty. This tied the scores up, and the final minutes were dogged as each side searched for a winner to guarantee their place in the Semi Finals. The winner did not come however, and the final whistle blew to end the game in a stalemate. Full Time Score:- Laune Rangers 2-13, Cordal/Scartaglin 1-16.
