Laune Rangers: 3-11
Both teams notched up wides in the opening part of this U-21 Mid-Kerry Semi-Final played in Killorglin on Saturday, but it was to be the Killorglin side who put the first point on the scoreboard after 10 minutes, coming from Shane O’Connor. Beaufort answered straight away with a point from James Coffey to level the game a point a piece. Jack O’Connor pointed for the home side a minute later. Another point from Ryan Keane after 16 minutes saw Rangers 2 ahead. Shane O’Connor got his second of the day soon after, before Laune Rangers goal came in the 20th minute of play, scored by Eoin O’Sullivan to let the score 1-04 to 0-01 in Laune Rangers favour. A punched score from Beaufort saw them narrow the score slightly but this was to be their final score of the half. Laune Rangers continued to increase their lead with points from O’Connor, Podge Murphy and Ciarán Doona(2) letting the half-time score: Laune Rangers 1-08 to Beaufort’s 0-02.
The second half started how the first half had finished with Laune Rangers pointing again, this time a Colm O’Shea effort and another O’Connor point further increased the home sides lead. Laune Rangers’ first goal of the half came inside the first 10minutes from Ryan Keane who was on the receiving end of a good pass from Colm O’Shea, Keane made no mistake in finding the back of the Beaufort net to let the goal 2-10 to 0-02 in Laune Rangers favour. Beaufort’s woes were further added to when Ciarán Doona again goaled for the home side straight away. Beaufort answered this with a point of their own after 16minutes of the second half played, a pointed 45’ by James Coffey. The Killorglin side replied with a point from Pa Joy in the following minute. This point being Rangers last point of the game. Beaufort rallied for the remaining minutes with James Coffey adding another to the score sheet before scoring Beaufort’s first goal in the 20th minute of play to let the scores 3-11 to 1-04.
