Laune Rangers 1-9,

Dingle 1-13

JP O’Sullivan Park, Killorglin was the venue for this post-Puck Co League game between Laune Rangers and Dingle. The game started at a fast pace, with Shane O’Connor opening the score for the home side in the 2nd minute. Dingle’s slow start didn’t last long though. After a quick exchange of wides, Mike Geaney slotted over the bar from the 45 to level the scores after 6 mins. William Devane and Paul Devane added points for Dingle before a defensive mixup amongst the Laune Rangers full backs left the ball in the back oLaune Rangers 1-9, Dingle 1-13 JP O’Sullivan Park, Killorglin was the venue for this post-Puck Co League game between Laune Rangers and Dingle. A minute later, Aidan O’Neill added another point to make the score 1-4 to 0-1 after 11 minutes. After wides from both sides, Pa Sheehan and Mike Frank Russell (free) pointed for Rangers to put 4 points between the teams. Dingle then stretched the lead to 5 points from the boot of full-forward William Devane. Rangers midfielder Paudie Murphy scored a great point from 45 yards, before Russell slotted another curling free to put a goal between the teams, 0-5 to 1-5 after 26 mins. The first half excitement wasn’t over though as Rangers keeper Tony Lyons pulled off a super save to deny a certain goal. Mike Geaney scored the resulting 45’ to put the half time score at 1-6 to 0-5. The 2nd half started with a bang, as straight from the throw in Laune Rangers won the ball and Mike Frank sent the ball through to centre-forward Geoffrey Mahony who smashed in to the back of the net for a great goal. The same player quickly slotted a point to level the scores after three minutes of the 2nd half. Dingle quickly woke up though and points from William Devane, Mike Geaney, Liam Higgins, and Seamus Dowd had the visitors well ahead with 15 minutes to go 1-6 to 1-10. Mike Frank Russell slotted over the bar for Rangers before William Devane pointed and Geaney scored a brace for Dingle to put the scores f the net from the hand of a home defender.. A minute later, Aidan O’Neill added another point to make the score 1-4 to 0-1 after 11 minutes. That put the score at 1-9 to 1-13 and it proved to be the final score of the game.
